its blue ivy actually, i know what you mean look at apple and other stupid names!
I thought it was Blue Ivy.... I've seen it both ways on different sites though so it could be either or neither.
EGO
We've had this discussion many times on here, but I still stand by what I often say....

The kind of kid that these priviledged children will grow up and associate with won't think their names are anything out of the ordinary, they're hardly going to be going to your local comprehensive with the ordinary kids will they?

Besides- I quite like the name Ivy Blue, it's cute.
No name is ' normal' until somone decides to call their child by it- then someone else and then someone else and then....
Wendy is a perfect example.
I think it's quite a pretty name...
They can always change it when they are older.
David Bowie's son changed his from Zowie Bowie to something like Duncan Jones.
Quite china- and both 'Ivy' and 'Blue' are quite established names.
I also liked the name Harper... Wasn't so keen on 'Apple' though. There's loads of names in more common use that I don't like. Different strokes and all that I guess.
Whenever I read these threads about strange names they remind me of the story of the American drill sergeant reading out the names of new recruits. One by one the recruits answered their names until the sergeant came to the name Bluesky. Nobody replied and at the end the sergeant asked if there was anybody there who's name hadn't been called. A native American raised his arm and when asked what his name was he replied Blue Sky.
I agree with Boo on this. The circle that these kids will be in, friends, nannies, private tutors and all the showbiz folk it won't matter a jot what their name is.
Ivy is an old fashioned name, the Beckham child will be stuck with Harpic methinks.
Peaches Geldof always said she hated her name but she hasn't changed it as yet.
I like the name Harper too.
'Ordinary' people give their children uncommon names too - I've taught a Pebbles and a Blue (can't remember any others but there must be some).
I like the name harper, not sure about "blue ivy" together, seperately they are okay.

I suppose it doesnt matter, it never affected demi moores kids or bob geldofs kids to adversely.
^ lol thats a spelling and grammar error fest I have written
I knew a Stoney, Sher.. Her sister was Pebbles. No joke!

I like Harper too.

well the name 'beyonce' is not exactly common.

all names were once unheard of. all were invented by someone.

i expect the very first margaret or sarah or tina, got a few odd looks, but now they are commonplace and 'ordinary'.

it is just lack of familiarity that makes a name 'weird' ... most sound like perfectly nice words.
