Anyone know a supermarket which stocks this? Have tried Tescos, Morrisons and Asda, can't decide if its so popular its completely sold out or whether its been discontinued - if it has, can't imagine why!!!!

Haven't seen that one Ann, I had a Sainsburys special one last weekend it had orange cranberry and chestnut in it. but it wasn't anything to go mad about.
According to the Paxo site they still make Chestnut and Cranberry stuffing mix. Not sure where you would get it though. Will keep my eyes open.

Thanks maggie - thats the one I usually have at Christmas and I seem to remember its always very hard to find ......... doesn't anyone else have chestnut stuffing with their turkey? I add chopped cooked fresh chesnuts to the packet mix, its so yummy I could fill my plate with it. Nice cold too in turkey sandwiches, all my family love it!
We have chestnut stuffing Ann but it's homemade. I've never tried the Paxo one. I will look out for it though. :)
Get chestnut and sausagemeat stuffing already made in M&S in the fridge section, I've bought 3 packs & frozen it. I will defrost it xmas eve mix it with a bit of chopped onion & garlic put it in a big dish & bake it on high. We then cool it a little cut it into squares & pile it on a plate for everyone to help themselves.
I never have and never will stuff a turky with stuffing, its the first thing to go sour & contaminate the rest of the turky. Put a whole orange in the neck cavity it will give a delicate hint to the flavour (put a few stitchis in the skin to stop it escaping.

I make my own Sausagemeat and chestnut stuffing, so much better!....it's not hard to do!......it's just 1lb of good quality sausagemeat, 1/2 lb of chestnuts, boiled and skinned(this is the hardest bit, skin them when hot, otherwise they are impossible). crumble the nuts, add to the sausagemeat and bake, oven about 190 degrees for around 25 mins!......you can add onions and herbs such as sage etc if liked too.........
almost forgot Ann, when boiling chestnuts, always pierce them first, otherwise they may explode!........
I usually make my own stuffing with some 3 day old bread (crumbled), suet, herbs either parsley/thyme, or Italian herbs (or oregano) an egg, salt and pepper mix it altogether and put in a dish dotted with butter.
I envy you Welshy, I'm far too lazy (been there done that etc) btw during the year look out for cans of peeled chestnuts in the year as you're shopping, buy 'em then & they'll keep. Can't seem to get them now everyone has bought 'em up. (just as nice)
Enjoy your meal.

thanks Jem, have thought of doing that, but was never sure that it would turn out as good, but will try it!......won't find them now I don't suppose, but for next year!........thanks!.....

Thanks all - I never put any stuffing inside the turkey - can't fancy it somehow - I cook it in a separate tin. I don't make mine to the usual home made recipe as they usually contain sausage meat which I'm not keen on, that's why I use chestnut stuffing mix as a base and add more chestnuts to it. I also look out for the cheap tins of chestnut puree through the year!
Tesco do a Tesco Finest Pork, Chestnut & Onion Stuffing (430g) for £2.69, or two for £4.50. Find it in the chill section. It's freezable. They also should have Paxo chestnut and cranberry, if it isn't sold out.
