Got some fish fillets today, with parsley. I've often wondered what people actually do with the little sprig of parsley. The label mentions the parsley like it's an integral part of the fish...

Does anyone actually use it?

But it's been sitting in a packet with raw fish!!
Well no. If it's on the raw fish I cook it with the fish, perhaps in some foil (depends on the fish). I do eat raw parsley but not when it's been sitting on raw fish...
It's vegetarian sushi.....

I buy separate parsley...

So what's the point? Especially putting it on the label...
To make it look like more than it actually is.

Like you might refuse to buy the fish because they haven't put in a sprig of parsley :-)
I wouldn't. No parsley, no deal!! ;)
I brought this point up with the folk at Morrisons fish counter over their pre-packed 'salmon and parsley'. From their reaction, they very obviously hadn't thought about it before. They thanked me and said they'd raise it with management. That was two months ago, and they're still selling it

Completely pointless sprig of green stuff. It's not as if it makes the fish look more appetising.
