if it smells and looks ok or has no furry bits...why not? that's my benchmark x
If it is still sealed it should be fine. Smell it first, smoked salmon usually lasts. If it smells OK, eat and enjoy !
No, it is not okay for you to eat, but it is okay for me to eat. Can you give it to me now, please, as am feeling very hungry?
Going by when you posted, (Friday it says there) I'm going to say throw it out. Food that has been a week past the expiry date isn't safe to eat.

Double nonsense.

It's been preserved - smoked. It's sealed and refrigerated. It will be fine.
Yes of course it is - Monday is pretty recent for me, I've eaten sealed smoked salmon which is much older than that. Make yourself a lovely seafood pasta!
Assuming it has been refrigerated throughout I am quite certain it is perfectly good for eating, and would be under (same conditions) fit for eating for weeks to come. Sell-by means just that, it is a supermarket type turnover date stamp, it has little or nothing to do with when it needs to be considered suspect. Icg76 points to a sensible maxim and pastafreak is also correct.
Must be guaranteed salmon-ella if things go wrong
thesunchinestate - it's perfectly safe. Sell by dates are only a guide for the shops so stuff's not on sale too long. Lots of food keeps and can be eaten well past it's sell-by, I do it all the time (I've just finished a jar of Nutella from 2010, and the Marmite I've just emptied was dated 2008).
Bin it!!!!
Test it on your cat, that's what we do..... ;-)
