We always take our own bags, including some Tesco reusable ones.

At the checkout, we used to get a bag re-use point for all the bags.

These days, they seem to give no points at all, unless you're quick enough to ask for them, which makes us feel mean.

They still ask us how many of our own bags we used . . .
No...there's always bags at the checkout.
When I popped in this morning, aside from picking up some stuff for my mother, I was returning a bottle of Sancerre that I bought yesterday. It was on Special offer at £7.99. When I opened it, it was corked and tasted like vinegar. The lady at Customer Service really didn't want to give me my money back and argued that they'd sold 48 bottles this week and I was the only returnee. I told her to take it home and drink it. I eventually got the money refunded onto my card.
Stingy bar stewards only give me a point for every 2 quids worth of diesel now as well.
I started using the self service tills and say i've got 3 bags of my own even if I only get a loaf of bread.
I always take a bag in Sainsburys and recycle them as poo bags.
My Dad has kleptomania when it comes to carrier bags. The cupboard under the sink is full of them and he still pinches a load every week when he does his shopping.
Ours still asks us... and normally adds a totally random amount on!
lankeela, its about time you got indoor plumbing sorted by now ;-)
The cashier asks us if we brought our own bags - if they don't we tell 'em. If you bring a big trolley bag, you get 2 points per bag.
You've just made me chuckle Boo.

Boxtops - we never get more than 1 point, and then have to ask; what's the secret of your charm?
Well - no idea, Lankeela - I was told when the scheme started that big bags count as 2 - so when they ask how many bags I've got, I say 1-2, 3-4, 5-6.
I don't use my clubcard anymore so it doesn't bother me (although I rarely use carrier bags these days anyway). I resent Tesco having access to my complete shopping habits right down to the last sandwich and packet of crisps. Since I get most of my groceries from Aldi now, I don't miss the vouchers either.
I like the vouchers, they help out the budget, and it means I only get vouchers for things I want to buy.
They,re also slow to give you the school vouchers, unless you ask for them.
It must be me then, I always get the vouchers, and as we are collecting them for a youth group, I get given other people's as well!
NoMercy, a woman at work took a DVD back on Wednesday the day after buying it, because it was making a buzzing noise at a particular frame. They wouldn't check it and wouldn't give her a replacement, even when she got on the phone and spoke to the regional manager. All they did was take her details and told her they'd send her a shopping voucher as 'a gesture of goodwill'.
Go to another shop, you don't have to be dependant on Tesco's handouts. You can save more money by buying more cheaply elsewhere.
actually jomlfl, I've tested that - I always buy special offers and shortdated stuff, then Tesco is no more expensive than Morrisons or Aldi. And I can get it all in one place.
The bigger bags used to be worth more points, Then only honour it now if its actually printed on the side of the bag (cos it isn't on the new ones) - so my massive bag is worth 3 points :)
