Hi Mr Builder...just everything downstairs. It has now stayed on longer than it has for the past few hours.
When I last reset it the daughter noticed that the electric awning made a strange noise. I have unplugged that and so far so good....but I'm not holding my breath.....☺
The awning is plugged in to a socket upstairs so I can't see why that would solve the problem but this house is wired strangely....a bit of a do it yourselfer before I moved in but I have made sure everything is safe.
When I was last resetting the trip the garage light one kept putting the main trip off...I have left that off too....could one light in the garage be sending all downstairs sockets and lights dolally?
I guess the electrician will sort it tomorrow....oh I hope so...☺
Yes, one fault could do that. The switch that you have to reset ..... is it one of the small ones or the RCD at the end. What I mean is .... does everything go off downstairs, or just one circuit?
Gness, lovely sentiments and beautifully said - I wish you A lovely Christmas too. ♥
It is often said that AB has a lot to answer for, keeping us from doing other mundane things etc, but like you,it has for me not only filled a gap but allowed me to find love and happiness and hope.
Happy 2014 and hope it is a well lit one and you get your electrics sorted. ♥
Mr Builder...it's the RCD at the end and every socket and ceiling light will go off downstairs. I flicked off all the switches...reset the RCD and then flicked on the other switches one by one...The RCD was fine til I switched the garage light one then it tripped. Having said that though...since unplugging the awning all has been fine.
I guess the electrics on an exposed outer wall in this weather are fairly prone to water getting in?
Mamya...when this green novice made friends on AB the family were full of tales of woe and disaster.....I will never regret finding AB...I have made, and met, lovely friends.....for all my jesting...it really has been a life saver at times...xxx
