I have been a Dubonnet fan since i could legally drink nearly 40 years ago. I bought a bottle recently and it definitely tastes and smell different and not for the better. So...it it me or have they changed it?

Just sold my Prada boots for 30€, :-( so almost enough now to pay off hija's debt, selling Sky digibox tomorow, so should be able to afford a coffee!!!
I'd sell my soul for some warm weather :)
Your blizzard has just touched down here Robinia ..I saw you at the window ....huffen and puffen in an easterly direction :)
Sheesh it's cold . Cold enough for a swift snifter.
Me too shaney...I think you were huffen and puffen it back weren't you, we've had blizzards on and off all day. I'm sure I wasn't this cold when we had all that prolonged snow 2 years ago. Our UNreal feel went up(!) to minus 10 and we're back down to minus 18 now. I'm going to start tunneling through to Oz so my son can pump warm air through.
Tunnel here m'dears, so lovely today but there was a nip when the wind blew which wasn't often.

Just made meat, pot and mushroom pie, with my special cabbage, very acceptable considering that I do not like pies.

Hope you are all tucked up in your houses, safe and warm, and hope Shugy is letting woofy relax a little!!!
Pie and cabbage, warm weather, lovely, I'm on my way...hang on, what's special about the cabbage? Not broccoli in disguise is it?
The cabbage is sauteed in butter and blk pepper and then gently simmered in a small amount of either stock, or in my case knorr onion soup, it is to die for!! Still slightly crunchy and none of that 'orrible tenement cabbage smell!
Hi All. Another 'gaddingabout' day. Sains. Food and Petrol, Staples for some star stickers for my little friends on Wednesday. Then back home and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning...My lounge got a 'bottoming' All I've got left to do is a sink full of pots after I've watched UC.
I had a veggie omelette for my lunch too with potatoes and all sorts of veg including onions. I really enjoyed it as I haven't had one for ages.
While I was sorting my room I cleared my book shelves and put some of them in a cupboard in a box for storage and in the box I found 3 autograph albums belonging to my grandmother and 3 of her sisters. She One of them is her sister Great Aunt Mary who was a nurse at Ely Emergency Hospital during the 2nd world war and it had lots of signatures of soldiers of the time. The other 3 (Great Aunts Cissie & Gladys) albums are over 100 years old. My Grandma's (Maude) is about A4 size and is full of paintings and drawings. It's lovely. You can tell how things were in those days by one of the paintings is of a little coloured boy in bed being fightened of the dark and there's a little funny poem under it. It's called 'Dat Ole Bogey make My Hair Curl.' I wont write it out except to say, that the word n****r is said twice. In those days they thought nothing of using it did they? The hand writing is beautiiful and the painting too. If you like me to scan and email it to you for a look I will but I'm not putting it on here.
I've been wearing really thick jumpers for the past days I've been so cold - and what a strange day - first it was brilliant sunshine then really dull and snowing then within half an hour the sun was out again and the snow all done. They had 2 other sisters that I knew Hilda and Ada and two brothers Willaim and Richard. I do know there were about 13 all together mostly born in India not that I ever met them. I'm getting carried away here so I'm off before I bore you to death...
Have a good night all. Oight Oight laters 'gaters
The bit about the other brothers was an afterthought and there were 4 albums not 3 :) :) byee!!
I still have my mother's school autograph book and yes some or most of the drawings and cartoons are really good, quite professional. Mind yhou they didn't have much else to do did they??
Too right Neti. My Gran was an artist and and my Mum went to art school in Derby. Then there was music. Sitting round having a sing song with her playing the piano. I've done that a few times.

SOTD Shaney the magnificent score of 5 for me!!!
Sorry Biddies I even got the war wrong it was during the first world war my great aunt was the nurse...
It's freezing here .The wind is howling down my chimleys and we've had more snow .
That's lovely Jude .
When my Ma in law died we had lots of stuff ...
( as you've probably heard about ) and amongst it autograph books .Her own and ones from the three old maiden aunts .Fascinating to read considering these old aunts were born pre and very shortly after WW1.
Beautiful handwriting , and lovely thoughts written by long lost people .My MiL's book had things written in it by friends she had as a child and as a young woman during the second lot .Very poignant .
I got 17 on UC but that was just general knowledge .I knew the picture rounds and music ,add a letter words etc . but they seem to have loads of stuff lately about maths ,quantum physics and other such highbrow stuff ,of which I haven't a clue .
I was amazed that they didn't know which counties have the highest number of medieval churches :)
We had braised steak ,yorkies ,spuds , Robinias favourite small green trees and carrots .Nice tummy warming dinner .
Keep warm folks and I wish you all a peaceful Oight .

Still blooming freezing here...oight oight all
Good morning freezing Britian, grey and windy here today which is fine by me! Hope you all keep warm and safe. Jude you stay in side, no galloping out in the snow, actually the same goes for all of you, no more broken anything!!
Morning cabbage patch babes...bright 'n sunny but still bitterly cold, real feel, minus 10.

Some lovely memories Jude, I don't suppose people keep a lot of handwritten things nowadays, it's all online blogs. Unless they print those out I expect they'll disappear one day won't they? Surely everything can't be stored forever?
My family on my dad's side all had/have beautiful handwriting. My mum and one of her sisters had virtually identical writing, very odd.

I seem to have a drunken cursor, it's a bit slow and doen't travel in astraight line, haha...it must be the dubonnet effect.

oh, btw, there's a sale on M&S site, 'Selected Items'....hmmm, that means nothing worth buying I suppose.
Morning all
Minus 9C but bright on and off .The wind is still blasting .
Glad I don't have to go out in it .I've only been as far as the bird table and that was enough.
I suppose I'll just have to spend the day internet shopping :)
Keep warm .
Good morning Biddyfriends. Ditto Robi's weather report. I'm off out for a pub lunch today with my Tuesday friends.
Shaney you always do very well on UC. You're far more erudite than me. I answered the question on what fruits came from where. Didn't think I would get some right but I did. I've learnt stuff through doing Crosswords etc not through being clever at school. My best subjects were French and Art. I was rubbish at everything else. I even got put off playing sports when I got hit on the nose by a hockey ball and stick all in one go. I had to go and have a lie down in the First Aid room. I didn't cry though. :)
I loved looking through all the old stuff last night. My pots didn't get done until about 10.00.
I haven't been internet shopping for ages. I'll have to give M & S..Per Una a look later on.
Hope you all keep warm today and if you go out don't get blown about too much.
Finally, I've had a chat with Lottie and she sends her love and to tell you she'll be back soon.
See yer later 'gater(s)

morning all.For some reason we are all sleepy today. Its bright sunshine out and bitterly cold, we might go out later but oddly I'll need to wait till the sun goes around a bit so there is some shade parking for the car.
Sun's out now but very windy and so much pollen everywhere, swirling around, horrible.

Just sold my sky box, now selling dvd player, I do like this selling nonsense, it's addictive.
Sun's gone!
