I am a childminder and one of my parents may be having to reduce her work by a day from next year ( she currently works full time) She wanted to send her child alternate Fri's but I cannot afford to have this day off so I said it's either a case of I get someone else for that day or to save the full time place she wants she would have to pay me half on the day the child didn't attend. Would she still be able to claim the same amount of tax credits so she could afford to do this or does the child have to be attending on the day?

I think so as TC's know that places have to be paid for regardless whether the child attends or not.

I want it to be legit though! Don't exactly want to be done for fraud. I have suggested she phone the helpline and they will tell her for definite. Thanks.
