Hello, not sure if this is the right place to post but I wanted to know if you have to give your details to Social Services if you want to report someting?

Also does anything get logged by the Social Services if anyone reports anything and can the police find out if a complaint has been made from the Social Services?

Thanks

the police have a right to obtain info from almost anyone if they have good reason.

social services will make a record and will act as they feel appropriate. you won't have to give your details but I'm sure they would have a stronger case if you gave them. personally, I can understand why you'd be wary, but you should pass on as much info as you have anyway.
if its to do with kids, try the nspcc - they have anonymous reporting
I once had reason to report my sister-in-law (long story) for cruelty to my nieces. I did so anonymously by letter and they dealt with the situation quite quickly. She received counselling and the whole thing worked out well for, both, my sister-in-law and my nieces. Social services have an obligation to investigate all claims I believe.
You may report something to social services anonymously, try to give as many details as possible about your concern. They have a duty to investigate every referral and it will start with them checking records and a ring round to other agencies to check if anything is known about the person/people and if they have any concerns.
Hi, I had recently reported a friend to s.s. anom through a letter. a written statement is usually better than verbal as it is easier to log. just make sure you have the right facts and if it is regarding a child it will defo be investigated. as what we say in the child protection circle... every child matters.
