..it's her birthday coming up and she's had a horrible time recently, she has broken up with her partner of 11 years and deserves to do something nice. I would like to take her out for the day and do something different rather than going for a meal. I'm quite short of money at the moment so it needs to be something thoughtful but inexpensive. Also she is in the very early stages of pregnancy so I guess there are things she can't do - I don't know? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks. x

How about a day at a day spa? Can be quite cheap to just lie by the pool and then if she wants any treatments she can pay for that or you could pre book one or 2. They often have special pregnancy treatments too. Or you could see if there are any horse racing days on near you near the date, great fun and relatively cheap.
if going for a spa day then check first if they have any pregnancy suitable treatments as hot tubs, saunas and massages are not advisable.

Thank you both, some nice ideas. I didn't realise you could get special pregnancy treatments - I'll look into it. Thanks!
If you can't afford the spa treats, then why not make up a pampering pack, bath foam, body lotion, some nice food etc. Even some make up, you quite often lose the ability to buy something nice for yourself when ur pregnant.
I'm 11 weeks pregnant and if somebody was treating me what would be perfect right now would be getting my eyebrows done, having a pedicure and manicure, then going home and having a lovely long soak in the bath and having something nice to eat (home cooked meal or takeaway) and watching a girly flick.

Thanks Amonty and Natalie, maybe I'll do my own mini spa at home then, followed by food and a chick flick. I might leave out the eyebrow waxing though as that could go very wrong ;-) Good luck Natalie.
