Are you superstitious? Or is it just another day to you? What weird and wonderful superstitions do you have? Do you go out of your way not to walk under ladders? I do!!!

i loath magpies and is the only superstition I have. Friday 13th is usually a good dsay for me. ;)
I never go in the sports section on friday 13th. Its too crowded with demons and spookies!
i'm too lazy to be superstitious!
Only posting an answer so that there's more than 13. Is there a saying regarding having a drink before 1.00 and your worries will be gone? cheers
i would love to know where it all started that the number 13 was supposed to un unlucky? unyone know?
Even though I think Magpies are are striking looking birds, whenever I see one alone, I always salute & say "Morning Captain" or afternoon or evening, depending on the time of day!

On 8 Sep 1994, my husband & me were walking back to our hotel in Cyprus, when we saw a lone Magpie at the side of the road. I said to my husband "I hope that's not an omen" & carried on walking. As we opened the door to our room, there was a note on the floor asking us to phone either of our daughters. I did this, only to be told that my Dad had just died. I can't tell you the shock we both felt & had to wait two days for a flight home.

I still wonder if that Magpie was trying to tell us something....
my birthday is on the 13th of feb and the last time it was on a friday i had the best birthday ever! i always salute at a lone magpie though! x
Well the logic in me says there's really quite a lot of magpies out there and it's no big deal to see one but I usually make a point of saluting them or making sure someone else saw the little blighter. As birds I quite like them, they're very cheeky and I feel that means we have something in common. They also have a very small brain like myself!

I'm not sure if I've just go meself confused again (common occurence) but I think magpies were classed as unlucky as they were apparently the only bird that flew when Jesus was on the cross... But I'm not sure from what brain cell I've pulled that titbit from!
i used to be but then nothing bad seems to happen to me on friday the 13th ( touch wood) so now i just class it as another day.
I always say morning mr magpie
