i have been in the forces for 17 years, and seperated from my wife when i was at the rank of corporal, after 12 years of marrage. i have since been promoted and I am trying to sort out my financial settlement to finalize my divorce. My ex-wife has asked for 7.5%/16th of my CETV which has been calculated in my new higher rank. Can I offer her 7.5%/12th which was the amount of time that we were married, in the Corporal amount and not the Sergeant that I am now. Could you also explain to me what nonimal periodical payments of 5p per annum means regarding maintenance for my ex-wife (I am already paying maintenance for the children and have been from day one of leaving) and can I offer her less than 5p. Could you also explain to me that when I leave the army, I get a final lump sum payment (gratuity), is she entitled to any of this and if so how much? Thank you.
