What would you do if your brother/sister wanted to buy a house next door but one to you. Would you be happy about this or do you think that there would be arguements or things could be uncomfortable? If you thought if would effect your relationship would you say something?

me and my sis own flats next door to each other
and my other sis lives almost next door to my brother. Its fine until they have a row (which is quite often) and then it can be a bit awkward.
We built a house in part of my sister in laws garden. Main thing I think is do not just get into the habit of walking in without knocking on the door.
yer me and redcrx got on next door to eachother, but we've never really argued, and we wernt round eachothers all the time. Its abit different if they are going to popping round every day its might get a bit annoying espacially if you arent the type of person that will tell them. All in all it wouldnt bother me as a person but then I dont know what your relationship is like with your family.
I'm seperated by 320 miles from my sis.....i'm near Brighton and she's near Durham.

I'd love it if my sis and her hubby moved next door and my 8 year old daughter would get to see her beloved aunty every day rather than once a year.
My mum, one of her sisters and two of her brothers all have houses within a halfmile of each other. It's out in the country too so there are only about another 3 houses in that half mile. They all get on and it was good all growing up with our cousins around x
I suppose it really depends on how you get on in the first place. Personally I would prefer not, but that is because I enjoy 'going' to see family rather than them 'being there'. For me it is often a day out, and sometimes a weekend away, so with them next door I would probably see them even less!

I think it would annoy me if my wife's sister lived next door though as there would never be any privacy. I'm sure my wife would feel the same about my sisters!

Distance makes the heart grow fonder.
i live 5 doors from my dad,6 doors from my brother, i have a business 2 doors from my house the other way and i have just bought the house next to that and will be renting it to my step son and his cousin??
My brother and his gf bought the house next door but one to us about 4 years ago and it's fine. We used to never see them when they first moved in (lol) but now we pop round for a drinking session about 3 or 4 times a month - handy for not getting taxis :o)

We don't live in each other's pockets but know there is someone a stones throw away if they're needed. Up until recently my parents also lived only 5 mins walk away and I miss them not being as close.
I live in Scotland and my brother lives in England. For both of us that is close enough.

We get on really well, his wife is lovely and his children are gorgeous. But we are very different people.
I don`t have any siblings, but I would hate to live "right close" to ANY family member. I`ve seen it happen that when one has a dispute with another EVERYONE joins in. Then A doesn`t talk to B `cos B said something to C etc...
Well we used to live next door but one to my parents but I suppose that is a bit different. On the whole it worked well although there were a few touchy times. I would love to live nr my sisters, but I suppose it depends on the sort of relationship you have with each other.
I thought I would really dislike living near a Family Member, but my Partner and I now live 6 Doors away from his Parents and actually it's quite nice. My Partner doesn't drive so seeing his Family has become easier for him and when we have a Problem they are there to assist.

We also live on the same Road as our Best Mates and that is really good as when we have Drinking Sessions we literally can just stagger Home!!!!

If you get on well with them then I would see it as a Compliment that they want to live near you. If you dislike them or you have a lot of Arguments then I would speak to them and ask them why they want to buy a House so near to someone they clearly don't like!!
i am really close with my brother and we live just round the corner from each other...we have the same circle of friends so hang out most weekends and some nights during the week. we lived together before he got married where there were the usual arguments but we were still close. i cantalk to him about anything so if i felt anything was affecting our relationship i would tell him and i'm sure he would do the same.
I don't live anywhere near any of my family and only see them (except my mum) at the most really once a year.

Am used to it really though as been that way for a long long time.
