Yes. The thing's (sic) some people write baffles me too.

He might have said "bomb" as in "it's the bomb" which is it's great, the best.

Or he could just be an idiot teenager

my 15 year old daughter call certain things wicked or buzzing which means fantastic or something really good and exciting.
I worked at a residential school and one of the boys' grannies visited and asked another boy hpw his exams had gone 'wicked' he replied, so she said she was sorry to hear that.
Hammer Head, do you not mean "baffle" as "things" is plural?
No, I don't. I am baffled by it, so it baffles me.
Baffle is the correct usage.
maybe i was enjoying his french gcse and described the sandwich as "bon" e.g. good ! ... well its possible :0)
The other day, a teenager said "thanks" to me, and it took me a while to realise what he meant.
"On my bill" meaning "on my own" seems to be popular in Lancashire. From "Billy-no-mates" apparently. Confused the hell out of me first time I heard it.

It kinda bugs me when kids (and young adults) say something is "gay" when it's regarded as no good.
That's the second time in living memory the meaning and usage of that particular word has been changed.

Now, when someone describes another as "gay", he/she could mean that the person is happy and cheerful, a homosexual (usually male) or just plain uncool! (previously: "naff")

I wonder what they'd call an geeky but cheerful lesbian!
Gaye perhaps? (feel free to groan!)

Oh and Hammer Head,

"It baffles me."
"They baffle me."

What you should have written:
The things some people write baffle me too.

No doubt someone will correct my punctuation, as I'm sure it's pretty shoddy, but HH, you were being a little pedantic with your first post so I thought it only fair to reply in kind!

No offence intended.

my three younger sisters the oldest being 13 refer to things they like as sik

Im an American, and I find it incredibly intersting that I know every slang word you all have mentioned, simply because we use them the same way here in America.
