The Humane Society To My Cone Off Of My Cat, And Kept It. Do I Have The Right To Feel Upset?

adopted a cat from the humane society a couple of months ago. The humane society also spayed her about 7 days ago. She's been wearing a cone ever since. I took her into the humane society a couple of days ago for an unrelated issue. I didn't notice until we got home, but she didn't have her cone on anymore. I called the humane society, and they said that the manager took the cone off because the spay incision was healed. I was just like "oh okay". It kind of bothers me because she didn't even explain to me any of that while I was there. I was gonna call today and ask for the cone back, and if they refused or threw it away or whatever, then I was gonna leave them a bad review, and that's unfortunate, because I get my dogs nails trimmed there, and it would be awkward because I interact with this women every I go there.

The cone should only be used for a short time. They thought that it was the time to stop using it.

Did you pay for the spay operation?  Do you pay to have your dog's nails trimmed?  If not and the humane society has paid for the treatment you should feel grateful to them.

For goodness sake you were told her incision has healed and she doesn't need the cone anymore. Did you pay for the cone? If so you can ask for it back but to leave a bad review for that is going a bit too far. Why do you want the cone back. Soft collars are much better to stop animals licking wounds

Question Author

The only thing I paid for is the nail trims.

Question Author

Yes I paid for the cone. It's mine.

then be grateful. spaying is incredibly expensive in this country

What would you do with the cone? Rainy day? EBay? Ice cream holder?

The cone is finished with, gone. They are not meant to be reused.

Just be grateful you have a healthy, spayed cat

From this and previous posts you do seem to enjoy a good moan and finding fault with other people.

@Captain2 - you just inspired me to look at the OP's past posts .... and just by looking at the titles of the last 10 or so questions .... I strongly agree  :)

Cindy, you are worrying too much. Your cat is fine, she's healed well and longer needs the cone. It serves no purpose now.

You would just look silly and ungrateful if you left a bad review.

How did you not  spot the "cone" was missing straight away?

The cat told her ?

Question Author

Because she was inside the carrier, and I didn't bother looking inside.

So you just got your cat back and didn't even glance in the basket or say 'hello' to the poor thing?

You are very lucky that they are looking after your pets so well, it can be hard to find a good vet.

It would be very mean spirited to leave a bad review especially as you trust them with your pets enough to continue taking your pets to them for treatment.
