I have just been set free after serving 3 weeks punishment, my parents confined me to my room and my bedroom door was kept LOCKED with a key at all times, this is because I got caught shoplifting, I stole a small bottle of vodka so me and my friends could drink ( I am underage ) the shopkeeper called my parents and not the police, my parents said they don't want to see me go to jail so made my punishment as close to prison as possible I had to get up at 7am after a shower and breakfast I was locked back in my room for the rest of the day, I wasn't allowed ANY entertainment, NO tv NO phone etc, I was allowed 2 hours internet per day for good behavouir.
each day I had to write a 6 page essay, lights out and bed 9pm, it was a HORRIBLE punishment I was so so miserable I have lost 3 weeks of my school holiday.
my parents said a severe punishment is necessary to deter me from offending again
is this fair ?

WEll folks, she obviously has not learnt anything so the punishment has well and truly FAILED. If she had been made to apologize, pay back the shop owner through hard work, been shown either in real life or on line what drink can do to people and how small businesses are going under because of shoplifting then she may not have needed to come on here to moan!!

More likely sorry for being caught, sorry for being punished, sorry for themselves.
I think jordyboy hit the nail upon the head at 10.42 this morning. It does appear that the OP is engaging ABers in 'Clockwork Chat' and exercised a big wind-up.

Think about it folks because bigbecky's 'facts' don't chime true......Her posting last Thursday stated "I have served nearly 2 weeks of my punishment" and today she says "I have just been set free after serving 3 weeks punishment".

Hans.
Locked a way in a 'bed'room, hot shower every day access to the internet, I guess they provide food for three weeks...

I've being a naughty boy... in need of punishment, where do you live?

That was a joke btw, don't post your location if you don't want to.
Arky is after a sip of your vodka if there's any left...
sip! lol
More a big quaff...

hi its bigbecky with an up date, the shop I stole from is our local shop and the shopkeeper knows my parents that's why he didn't call the police, and its also why my parents punished me so severely, you ask if I have learnt my lesson ?
the punishment was AWFULL and I don't want to be locked up again , my parents said severe punishment is a deterrent to me stealing again, my parents have said they wont hesitate to lock me up again if I misbehave, they said I am on probation, what does that mean ?

Fishy question.
It was a punishment, you weren't meant to enjoy it.
Bigbecky....You need to start growing-up. At 16years of age you have many legal rights that are similar to those of adults, even if legally you are classified as a juvenile.

The punishment to which you have been subjected was somewhat lenient for the crime which you committed. Had the Police been involved you could have ended up in a young offenders institute for more than three weeks, without any Internet access. Incidentally, I would be interested to know why you did Not complete your room detention of 3 weeks. (please read my earlier posting and reply accordingly).

Hans, how on earth can you say my punishment was lenient, I was locked up ALL day EVERY day I had no freedom of ANY kind I was only let out for the bathroom and I had to eat in my room, I had to write a stupid 6 page essay EVERY day , I was in PRISON ! I was LOCKED UP !
to answer you question, when I said I had a week to serve it was in fact only 5 days, my parents let me out a day early because my cousins are visiting later and my parents think I have been punished enough.

Hard lesson to have learned but you won't forget it, enjoy the rest of your summer.
A young offenders institution for more than 3 weeks? Oh please. Unless I've missed something like assault, manslaughter, gbh, a weapon ?
Here in the Uk, it would have been a caution and many towns also have a system called banned from one banned from all where your photograph is circulated to all shop owners in your town and you are banned from all the shops. Essentially it means that the whole community can get to know that you are a thief.....now that would have been fun wouldn't it?

auntlydia, you say the punishment didn't work I think it did as I am never going to steal again the punishment was VERY VERY miserable, I am on what my parents call probation they said if I misbehave again In the next 6 months i will be put straight back into lockdown, as I am back at school this would be at weekends only.
I have kept out of trouble, the only problem is I want to go to a party in a couple of weeks time , my parents said I cant go, so I am thinking of sneaking out and going, I think I will get away with it but i will NOT be able to cope with being locked up again ADVICE please ?
grow up and behave !
You say you have learnt your lesson - then you consider risking 'lock-up' again; ergo you haven't and you are delusional. You are either very stupid or a troll.
