I am aware that one can find more explicit dating sites where people are simply looking for physical relationships. But a mainstream dating website such as "match.com" for example should be screened should it not?

It's more of a general dating site (as I can't afford the decent ones) though just getting deluged with random messages (many in text speak...arghhh!) at the moment. At least I seem to have found one nice one :)
