For me anyway! A few months ago I posted a question entitled "Is adultery forgiveable?" http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/R elationships-and-Dating/Question418439-2.html

I had some fantastic advice - this site at its best I think - and was asked to give an update so here goes. We separated, he took several actions to manage his stress and after an absolutely horrendous, heartbreaking first month, we tried to use the time apart to rebuild something. This hasnt really worked and I have realised how much happier I am, and how much more secure and confident I feel apart from him. He will always be my daughters father, and will always be very special but he is a taker, not a giver. I now know this is the measure of a relationship, hence my advice to Lee who posted on a similar subject earlier.
So thanks everyone, crowd wisdom works!

Maypole, sad to hear he isn't the one for you after all, but good to know how much stronger you feel without him. Always better to be single and happy than with partner and miserable.

I am pleased for you x
Hi Maypole, I never read your original post. I was with someone who was unfaithful. And am now on my own too. But can see what you mean about being more secure and confident in yourself now you are apart. As I feel the same. Not all days are rosy, as I am sure you know too. But better than they were before. Hope everything works out well for you.
That's brilliant news Maypole and I am so happy things have worked out for you hun. In time you will feel more and more confident and soon enough you will wonder why you stayed with him as long as you did. I hope it all works out for the best for you and your daughter.

Love Ruby xx
no forgiveness for adulterers or adulteresses.

lying scheming cheating swines.

they deserve to be flogged.

grrrrrrrrr
no, no, don't waste your time trying to have him flogged or otherwise punished. You're doing the right thing: getting on with your own life, not obsessing with the past. I'm glad it's worked out for you - not easily, but you're stronger and happier. Up to him to solve his own problems, not up to you. Good luck for the future.
