Have recently learnt that I will become one in the next 6 months. Should I practise being dignified and intimidating or just stick to what I know?

Hahaa..I'm a great aunt .Numerous times over and I'm only ...err.......
Just be yourself :)
Just practise your cuddling! A teensy bit of eccentricity is allowable.
Just be yourself, Vallaw!
Ha! There is only one Maggie Smith!

I am well practised at being an aunt - 6 times over. 3 nieces, 3 nephews. But this is the first time the next generation has got it together! Probably just as well I have no kids myself.
I'm a great great aunt as well :)
I have 18 nieces and nephews .
But I draw the line at lavender and old lace :)
I've been a great aunt since I was 37 and now have 4 great nephews and 2 great nieces just 8 years later. Just stick to what you know, :o)
Will never be any kind of aunt. No siblings. It would have been lovely.

I really don't think I can do lavender and old lace either - but I can knit and suspect I will do something embarrassing in the bootee region. Beats knitting hats for Innocent smoothies.
What were the perfumed sweets that a great aunt ate?
I dunno Daisynonna
It's ever so slightly embarassing when your 50 year old nephew yells out
Yoohoo Aunty J.... in the High Street :)

>>>"Should I practise being dignified. . ."<<<

Sorry, Vallaw, but there are some things which (however hard you practise) you'll probably never be able to achieve ;-)
Question Author
Phul Nana, if I remember right, were violet-scented cachous in a little tin with an Aubrey Beardsley-esque reclining female - those were the days!
parma violets ?
It could have been cachous. She had them in a tin. This was a long time ago.

[standing on what little dignity is left] Thank you for your contribution, Buenchico. (sob)
Look at it another way, Vallaw.

Your alternative to 'practising' was to stick to what you know. You can't get better than perfect, can you?
