my hubby was questioned and charged over an alledged theft but the policemen who interviewed him was an ex air force colleague. would there not be a conflict of interest? he knew the policeman when they served in the same squadron years back...would ther interview be void?

I very much doubt it. But your husband could mention it to his defence solicitor
Just to clarify my answer- I was answering the question "would the interview be void" rather than the question in your title
no...as long as the interview , content and intention was above board. as factor says, you should mention it to your solicitor anyway, but as well as working against him...it could also work in his favour x
My guess is you'd have to indicate where a conflict of interest existed.
Do you have reason to believe the copper was biased ?
