When staying in hotels on holidays, there are seldom strong enough lights at the sides of the bed for reading. We bought 2 small portable lamps to take but they were too small, you had to almost balance them on your shoulder to get the light. Any tips?

booklight?
Check what bulb fitting the bedside light takes, nip down to the local supermarket and buy stronger bulbs.

At the end of the holiday take your bulbs out and take them home with you.
I use the clip on booklights - tesco have some for £1 in their "essential items" or whatever it is called aisle.
When I was last in Maplins they were selling a kind of strap-on LED light that you starpped on your head. I suppose they problem would be blinding your OH every time they asked you a question.
... yeah, that and looking like a coal miner.
....once I got the kids some hilarious workers specs from Tandy - no lenses but a torchlight on eother side of the head!
Really good for scaring people down dark alleys .....
Might look daft but > http://www.argos.co.u...earchTerms=HEAD+LIGHT > Yep .. like a coal miner lol!!
