yes, me.

how long was it for, 6 months?are you male or female?
i am female. I was told to come off it for at least 3 months but it would be better to be six months. I was also put onto 5mg folic acid a day (which is many times the "normal" dose for pregnancy)
However, please see your consultant first. I don't know what illness you are taking it for but if it is keeping your disease under control, you need to go onto something else first that is safe to take in pregnancy and let that start working. You also need to consider whether you CAN get pregnant or not - no point stopping treatmen, flogging your health out then finding out you/partner is infertile

its my partner who takes it for rheumatoid arthritis,i fell pregnant just before he started taking the medication but are now thinking about trying for another.he has had a few attacks as he has tried to lower his dose, so we will just have to see how he goes and come off it when the warmer weather comes,he already has to take the folic acid with his methotrexate anyway.my doctor told me as i wasn't taking it,we should be ok,but his doctor says he defo has to come off for 3-6months before trying.
hi pcp, my advice still stands - if your husband is well controlled on the MTX it might be worthwhile considering if now is the right time to come off it - for example how bad is his condition without the MTX?
