Have any other pregnant ladies experienced this? Over the least couple of months, I find my genitals hurt, especially after having sat for a while. When I stand up, between my legs hurt and I find it painful to walk.

it could be SPD, have a word with your midwife who will be able to advise ways to ease the pain

Thanks Red, unfortunately, I don't have a midwife yet, I have to have my Ante Natal appointments at my GP's surgery. I'll have a look at that link, never heard of SPD before.
how come you dont have a midwife yet? GPs are good but always much better to see a midwife.
make an appt to see GP if necessary and ask for a referal to physio if it does sound like SPD, if left it can get very very painful but they can give you information on how to avoid the pain.

Well it seems I live in the middle of two local authorities, so the Midwife service is out of my catchment area. My GP surgery doesn't have any community midwives either, so I have no idea when I will actually meet a Midwife, who will attend the birth.

I have my 28 week Antenatal appointments soon, so will have to enquire about this, obviously I would like to know who will be delivering my baby and feel that I'm comfortable with her. The one I saw at my last appointment, who works in another hospital, was a right cow and I don't want someone like her.

I'll definitely enquire about the SPD, it does sound as though I might have that. Thanks.

Velvetee I found I got pain In my clitoris after aroung 30 weeks. I couldnt have sex without pain. Is this similar to you?

The pain for me is a little lower than that. I've been experiencing this from about 20 weeks.
Hi Velvetee,

I dont know if it's different in other areas but where I live, I saw a comunity MW every few weeks at Drs surgery and also at home sometimes. Always saw different MWs/Drs when I had hospital appointments at the ante natal clinic and when I was inlabour I went to a different hospital and was assigned a MW who I'd never laid eyes on before, then 10 hours later the shift changed an another MW delivered the baby! After the birth I was visited by the original community MW and sometimes by another MW based in the same area. Here women are assigned to a hospital and seen by whoever's free. So when you do get a MW she may not be the one who ends up delivering your baby!

Hope you get some answers on the pain.

Thanks K8
velvet, Im a bit confused. From your post about a mobile epidural it seems as if your are going for a hospital birth and yet you say here that you hope to meet the midwife who will deliver you.

even if having a home birth you may get a different midwife to your community one, they cant be on call 24/7 and often the community midwives may just do a day a week at the hospital.
