Hi people, I am approximately 4 - 5 weeks pregnant. Yesterday morning I went for a pee and as I wiped, the tissue had a large amount of brown blood type stuff on it. I did not have any pain.
I phoned NHS 24 who said that it was pretty much normal for the stage as it was an indication that the egg was implanting into my uterus...
Has this happened to anyone else.....I was so paranoid that i took another two tests today and they are both positive....cant stop worrying about it though...

Hi There,

Yes, I had the same too so panic not! I had just came to terms with taking 3 positive pregnancy test, built myself up to telling the family & just as I had done so I went to the toilet & after wiping noticed a small amount of brown like discharge. Me being a worrier thought OMG I'm going to come on my period but I didn't, done yet another test which again was positive.

I'm now in my 18Th week with a rather big bump! That'll be you in no time!

P.s Congratulations x

Hey K82, thanks for that. I swear I got such a fright. I knew obviously that I wanted this baby but my goodness I didn't realise just how much it menat until I thought it was being taken away from me.

I done yet another test today but used one of the ones that tells you how far gone you are and it said 2 - 3 weeks...its so exciting. i now have my appointment with the nurse to do blood pressure and family history etc etc...

I have promised myself that I will stop worrying and try to go with the flow...

I cant wait to be big and round...its been 13 years since the last time I was pregnant so Im looking forward to it like a first time mum again..

Good luck to you too and thanks for the reassurance..

this is quite common, its usually caused by the embryo 'bedding' in,
I had the same thing on one day only at about 9 weeks. I also phoned NHS Direct and they just said speak to my GP or go to A&E if things worsened.

I spoke to GPon the Monday morning and she sent me for a scan the next day. Fortunately all was well, but they had no explanation for my brown bleed.

Hi everyone, Just an update. My brown bleed went on to become a heavy red bleed and unfortunately I have lost my wee baby..

Naturally my partner and I are devastated but life goes on.

I have been bleeding for a day and a half now, experiencing some very painful cramps, each time i see the blood and feel the cramp my heart breaks a wee bit more.

We have decided to still keep saving together so that when we do become pregnant again, god willing, we will have a nice wee nest egg to start us off.

I could not talk about it yesterday as it is just so emotionally painful but, I am a great believer that whats for me won't pass me and that there must have been something wrong with the development of the wee life to make this tragedy happen. Today, after a sleepless night of tears and broken hearts and shattered dreams, I can now see more clearly and be more practical about having to get on with life.

I intend to concentrate fully on my Open Uni studies and just take what life throws at me.

x.C.x
