after a previous near miss (due to stress, I think), am now 8 weeks pregnant. Felling good, but until my first scan I feel as if I can't get excited yet. Very sore breasts, extremely hungry and unbelievably tired. So, when is it safe to feel excited? It would really help to know whether chances of reaching the goal safely increase as time goes on, but am I being realisitic?
Thanks

the first 12 weeks are when you are at a greater risk of miscarriage, but this is at its highest at the early stages. Many pregnancies end before a woman would even know she was pregnant.

The symptoms you are experiencing should reassure you that your pregnancy hormones are increasng all the time and your body is making changes for the future months.

I think all pregnanct women worry for those first 12 weeks and then, even after that, find other worries to occupy their minds. Its perfectly normal but with each week that passes the chances of complications decrease.

congratluations!
I was also worried when I found out about this pregnancy as I had a MC last July.
My hospital has a Early Preg. Clinic where they will give you an internal scan if you are concerned about anything.
I had 1st scan at 6 weeks and it just gave me the confirmation that it was still there!!
My MC was at 13 weeks, so Im trying to relax a bit now I've gone past that...The further along you are the better!

Congratulations and good luck!

thanks. Am normally a logical person, and know that as long as I don't have any worrying symptoms, everything's probably fine. It just seems such a long time since I weed on the stick!
Have a lovely Easter, and thanks again
i am in exactly the same situation as you and know how you feel as i am also 8 weeks. i have had two lots of spotting and both times thought it was the beginning of the end. the only thing making me feel pregnant at the moment is the tiredness and nausea, is it normal that i have not got sore boobs? but anyway i saw that my baby was still there yesterday having an internal scan so i feel more at ease, i think its just completely natural for us to worry at this stage.
