Late period due to stress??

Like others, my wife and I have been trying so hard to have children for close to 3 years, with no success.

My wife is now on day 36 of her cycle and her temp is floating around 36.6-.8, 0.2-4 above normal. She normaly has her cycle around day 28/29.....but she has had on one or two occasions, later periods on day 31/32 (very rarely though).

She has just started work again after having a year off and ontop of that is undergoing a part time Maths course. She is a little bit stressed out and I was wondering if this would be a factor for such a late period. We are going to wait until Sunday anyways and see what happens, and if nothing by then, we will take a test after church.

so she hasnt taken a test as yet?

Im not clued up on temps and cycles but doesnt a temp drop suddenly before period arrives? and can stay high if inplantation has occured?

Stress can delay a period, i once went 5 months without period because of stress.

Youre not really gonne know though until she takes a test.

good luck

Wow....5 months without a period due to stress? Well, my wife has had stress before, but she normally only is a couple of days later at the most. She isn't too stressed out to be honest.

We havent taken a test yet because (I know it sounds funny), we dont want to tempt fate. We thought we would wait until the end of the week. My wife normally is quite consistant with her periods, this is the first time we are actually thinking that this one is a very good possibilty.

FINGERS CROSSED :-D
after 3 years i can understand why you dont want to get your hopes up so to speak.

Have you spoken to your GP to see if there are any reasons why youre struggling to get pregnant?

Well we moved recently so we have changed clinics. We spoke to our GP after 16mths or so, and she said that it is quite normal and that we are medically fine (after a preliminary check).
Our new GP's are not very good at helping us, I liked our old place. I do have a health plan and we were going to see a specialist in regards to this....we'll see what happens.

And oh yeah, exactly right with the 3yr wait and not tempting fate.....it is quite dishearting when you think that you have done enough/period is late and all that, but to find that it hasn't happened :-(
yes i agree , im on my 40th day since last time i was on an i think its stress , i have been trying for 2 years for a baby with my partner an im also on ovulex which i started to take a week ago but im under alot of stress an i have to be honest i dont think one woman could really say that they aint been a day or two or a few months late thro being stressed , anyway all the best .
