Hi all

Im starting to wash a few bits for the baby, mainly babygros etc. for hospital back which i want ready. I was wondering does everything need washing beforehand besides clothes and towels i.e bibs, muslin squares, blankets?

Thanks

Speaking of them smelling nice, i think that is what I miss - as we can't use fabric softener and can only use surcare washing powder, our washing doesn't smell of anything.
Thats shocking, shocking I say. I am gonna report you two to the social services pronto, oh how can you bear the shame.

Actually it never crossed my mind either until my mum mentioned it to me.

Sense4all, I think this section should carry a health warning to be read on entering, honestly, you would not believe some of the goings on recently in this topic, it has been most entertaining.
As i had to cut the feet off my first son's babygros when he was born, it would have been a waste to wash them (enviromentally friendly and all that) as I used then for rags when we got home and had to buy footless ones, or put him in age 3-6 month things. - so be warned take something bigger in just in case - the midwife said it was a big baby - after my worried "how big" she said oh, about 8lbs - he was 9lb 13 and 61cms long. Afterwards she said "I knew it was bigger than 8lbs, but when I saw the look on your face, I couldn't tell you!"
lol annie, sounds like my lad. midwife gave weight in kilos and then said oh hes about 8lbs. He was 9lbs 6.5 and 56cms long. His feet were too long for his babygros.

B00, theres no law saying you have to wash the clothes. I did with little CRXs newborns clothes and he only wore them that first day. If things were bought in a plastic wrapping, like babygros and vests i didnt wash them first but anything on a hanger in a store that may have been there a while, dusty and handled by all and sundry i did wash. i stopped at about 2 months though
Hi red - if it eases your concerns about the size of baby #2, my second was a diddy 8lb 3oz - a week early. Both are still very tall - expected adult height between 6' 4 and 6' 6.
