Several weeks ago, my eldest daughter told me she was pregnant. After the initial shock and I'm ashamed to say anger (she's only 19) I was secretly pleased.

This morning, she had her first scan.........and....it's become they, THEY'RE IDENTICAL TWINS!!!!

Both she and her boyfriend are totally floored and I'm utterly gobsmacked.

I really am in a state of shock...TWO!

It's posts like this (not cause it's mine) where everyone's nice and lovely which makes me realise why I do love AB so much.

I've been reading up on identical twins on t'internet. Did everyone else know that it's always either 2 boys or 2 girls? It's never a boy and a girl. No, I didn't know that either.....lol

Thank you everyone
xxxxx
Congratulations to you all! I know what you mean about wanting your daughter to "have some life first" - but you're all going to be so proud of those twins when they're here. The advantage to you being a young grandma, is that hopefully you'll be able to help your daughter out in lots of ways. Things'll be difficult for her at times, but there's no better job in the world than being a mother. Must just add, that you're an "oldie" in comparison to a friend of mine, who became at grandma at 32 - and she's loved every minute of it!
Question Author
Yeah taperface, its the "helping out in lots of ways" bit I'm worried about, only just more or less finished the baby stage myself.....lol

hehe BM, I'm same. I'm torn between wanting to shake her and cooing myself. Cooings winning though :-)
hi bigmamma, how are you? (sorry to hijack your thread boo!) hope you are gettin on ok, xx
Question Author
No worries Rom, I like the friendly chat we seem to be getting away with so far on this thread.

Carry on ;-)
BOO dear, the reason identical twins are always the same sex, is that they were the same egg which splits. They will also have the same dna. Did you also know that all embryos are female for the first 4 weeks after conception, which is why men have nipples. Some identical twins, like my nephews had their own language for the first couple of years which only they, and to a point their mother could understand. That'll get you going!!!
Awww , bless BOO, that's good :-) How are you going to sleep tonight ? :-0
