how can you tell bump is baby and not cake?!

Hello,

i'm about 9.5 weeks pregnant (I think! dating scan in 10 days) and i have a bump but i think it's cake!! i have gained a few lb since discovering i'm pregnant and i suffer bloating too (bit of an intolerance to wheat) so i kinda look like i've had a large meal rather than pregnant. when do you know your bump is baby and not just belly!?

Ha! Know that feeling only too well lol Im 13 weeks and sometimes it actually looks like a baby bump but most of the time it looks more like Ive just got a belly from eating too much! (It doesnt help Ive got a very big bum now too lol)
Everyone and every pregnancy is different so unfortunately, only time will tell. At the moment its all fluid containing a peanut (as my 6 yr old calls it). Once you have seen your baby on the monitor when you have your scan, it will all become so much more real!

Seriously though you will feel much more at ease when the first scan is done ;o)

baby bump is tucked down very low until about 10 weeks so its not a baby in your bump. BUT its is caused by baby in the fact that its weight that your putting on to nourish baby and protect him / her as well as your back etc.

Think of it more as a comfrting duvet rather than cake :)

Im only 6 weeks gone and Ive put on 6lbs already lol

Feeling a bit like you too ~max~, everyone seems to be having babies!! My sister is due in about 14 days but lives in Oz so won't get to see the baby when he is tiny, infact not sure when I will get to meet my nephew :o(

Watch out then max lol I was never broody........then I hit 30! lol 5 months after turning 30 im 13 weeks pregnant! lol

I sympathise with you Wingnut, my nephew is 16 months old now and Im yet to meet him as my sister lives in America :( Hopefully she will bring him over soon though.
