Because she is still old enough to believe in Santa, and Christmas approaches, why not suggest she parcels up all her dummies vor Christmas Eve, so Santa can take them as presents for all the new babies.

Then, on Christmas morning, have a little note 'from Santa' saying the babies say thank you, and they are pleased she is such a big girl, and has passed her dummies on to them.

Worked with ours.
Im doing the santa one with my son this year (hes 3)

Ok so he may scream and create for a night or two but itll be worth it in the end.

yeah my daughter was 6 when we finally managed to get rid of it!! was hard, we have got rid twice before, once when she was about 18 months old, but then she got a really bad cold and she wasnt sleeping, so i bought her a dummy and it worked!! and 2nd time i think she was about 3, she lasted about 3 weeks but then found one in a draw and that was that!

to be honest i dont remember doing any special tricks, i just explained that she was getting to big for it, she was fine in the day was just at night she asked for it, i used to stroke her head untill she was asleep and that worked for me,

the santa thing sounds good tho and with it being so close to xmas, maybe leave her a little pressie from the babies to say thanks

hehe xx
i told my daughter years ago there was a nest in the tree at the bottom of the garden.. i said that mummy bird flew in through the window to take it up to the baby bird and left her a special present to say thankyou a cadburys egg and this was a magic bird who only laid chocolate eggs for special little girls who helped the mummy bird it worked a treat
my mum did the Santa thing with my little brother when he was 6 in a half. my mum told him that santa need a dummy for his friends new little boy. so my step dad dress up as Santa and said to him "my friends little boy needs a dummy and hes only a baby. i was think as you a big boy can i give him your one." my brother was happy with this and give it to him and my step dad give him a early present. it worked like a treat.
he only ask for a dummy once after that and my mum told him you dont need dummy you a big boy now santa give it to his friends little boy and he was fine with that. maybe if you try this with your little girl this xmas eve it may work
hi i took my sons to the dentist when they were 1 and 2 and the dentist told me that the dummies were affecting the way the older ones teeth were gwing. so when we got out i decided no more dummy. i told my sons that the dentiost man said there dummies had to go in the bin. at bed time they asked for it and i said sorry its gone, i sat on the bed and read then a story well about 3 stories untill they went to sleep. after 3 nights of this they never asked for it again.
when she asks for it just try to distract her and change the subject.
my mam did a similar thing to the santa one- she said we have to put the dummies on the tree to get the presents
sort of an exchange, apparently my sister and brother did it no problem- i woke up christmas morning and said i didnt want the presents, i wanted my dummy.
My nephew gave me his dummy when he was 3 to hang from the mirror of my car :)

his mum refused to buy him new ones for months before hand and then asked him who would like to have it as a keepsake. he said i was the most in need coz i was a big baby.

He's 6 now and its still hanging there all crumpled and hard but when he gets in my car he still says "thats my dummy but you need it more coz you love me"

not sure if its helpful but it swells me with pride to tell the story :)
I agree that thesanta idea seems good - perhaps with a twist, if you suggest she will get extra presents in return for her dummies? Also maybe try telling her that dummies are for babies. Kids like to feel grown up so maybe you could use that?
I work in a nursery and since I invented the Dummy Fairy there have been 4 children give me their dummies in an envelope that we wrote to post to her ,the dummy fairy then leaves you a little thank you when she has received your dummies! Of course we have dummy fairy assemblies where the children can show what the fairy left them!
Maybe try something of the sort? thechildren love to look grown up infront of their friends.Obviously the teacher has to be totally insane like me !!!!#
Good luck
We went to the beach with my daughters dummies - all four of them she used to put in her mouth at one, at the age of 2 - she used to call them num nums. We both threw them into the sea and Sammy seal took all of them and they never reappeared.

I explained to my daughter it was time for Sammy seal to have them.

It worked............
