Stasimon
The first choral song, sung as the chorus enters the orchestra, is called a parodos, each choral ode after that is called a stasimon.
And that's precisely what my link-material says, Mustafa...but what the hey!
Some people can be extremely irritating, Quizmonster.
Mustafa, I am aware, of course, that all of us AnswerBankers are sitting at distant typewriters, but I tend to think of the contributors to a thread as if we were a conversational group discussing the matter raised by the questioner.
In such circumstances, in actuality, anyone who simply said exactly what someone else had just said would be loooked at askance by everyone else present as if he/she were deaf or somewhat mannerless.
Accordingly, I myself always read the responses...and that clearly includes links...already on a page before contributing. Seems only polite, but maybe that's just because I'm am oldster!
See? I wrote 'typewriters' and not 'keyboards'!
You quaint old-fashioned thing, QM !You haven't changed since I was last on this site, years ago.( And the link is correct)
Good lord, Fred! I just saw your user-name on a question elsewhere...indeed, I tried to answer the actual question...and wondered whether this was a newcomer with similar Hungarian sheepdog tendencies or a reincarnation of your good self.
Welcome home!
