Missy is 10weeks old now and sometimes will during the course of a feed throw her arms back and pull away from the bottle as if she doesn't want anymore and then when the bottle is removed from her mouth, squeals the place down until you put the bottle back in a does the same thing over again - any ideas anyone ?

Maybe you have a teet problem!! My sister had to change her teets because her daughter started becoming frustrated during feeding as she could not get to the milk. My sister had to change the teets to teets that had bigger holes in them so. Ive heard this is a common problem. Ask your health visitor next time you see her or ask for some advice at your chemist!! Hope this helps!!
Hi, maybe she has bad wind I usually find that holding a baby against your shoulder upright and cuddling them at the same time as bringing up wind helps. Also, you could try the avent variflow teats only on avent bottles and try her out with the different flow teats this saves having to buy seperate teats. I ended up using the Dr Brown bottles which stop air bubbles building up and really helped my daughter. It sounds like your baby really wants her milk but something is causing her discomfort it is just a case of trial and error. Good luck.
colic? did she have a hard time during delivery, forceps?

She was caesarean delivery - we use Dr Browns bottles and she doesn't get colic anymore as we use Colief which has elminated it 100%
Takes the first half of the bottle ok then causes this fuss.
i was just wondering about delivery, as my son was forceps and a midwife took me aside (as she said she wasnt really allowed to tell me this) and told me he may get a "false colic" at around 8 weeks. she said it isnt colic and it quite often happens with babies who have traumatic deliverys. He had cranial osteopathy and was right as rain.
It could just be wind.
My eldest son went through a phase of doing this and I found that he didn't really like milk but was hungry, so after rejecting it, decided he needed it again!
He still doesn't like milk much and he's 11 now! Could be a similar thing!
Hi, i had the exact same problem with my 9 month old when he was younger. He would be desperately hungry but really mess with his bottle and pull weird faces and it really worried us until we decided to change his teats. It took him a small amount of time to get used to them but the problem stopped almost straight away! we were so frustrated and so was he-it seems he was really hungry and he had a strong suck and wasn't get the milk quick enough which was annoying him and also wearing him out making him grumpy. try changing your teats to the next size and see what happens, I'd be interested to find out if it helps you!! It saved us a load of hassle!!
Good luck!
