My 9 year old daughter is being a major pain in the backside at the moment!

Shes recently started doing very odd things ~ she smacked her younger sister on the head with her my little pony island, for no reason, i asked why & she didnt know why.
She also broke her younger sisters dolls house, poured stuff in the bathroom all over the bathroom!
Drawn on the walls, drew on the living room curtains & many other things that she has never done before,
All in the space of 3 days.

Her answer to this everytime is i dont know, its not attention seeking as she gets plenty of attention, all 3 of my girls get the same, she is never left out of anything.

Ive asked her if there is anything wrong at school & she says its all ok & ive checked with the school as well.

She never did any of this stuff as a toddler as you would expect toddlers to do ~ is she making up for it now.

Is she the oldest? Not that it is any excuse for what she has been doing.
How is she otherwise with her sisters or with others in general?
Maybe she needs a haircut and is struggling to tell you?! Its hard admitting these things but it could well cause major distress....

Just a thought....

Shes the middle child, normally she is ok with everyone else, shes normally a good & polite girl but the last few days shes been "ratty" with everyone
Is it possible she is suffering from PMT?

I know 9 years old is very young but my god-daughter started her period at this age and just before it her moods and her behaviour were a nightmare! And she never really knew why she did it either.

Thats something i have thought of, if it is then we will have to have a chat i think cos im 31 & before my period i dont draw on the curtains & decorate the bathroom with a thick layer of smellies!

Thankyou

Pah... you've never lived!

Good luck xx
Thats exactly where I was heading with my questions!

Sounds a very personal question, but have you noticed recently shes getting to the stage where she may be needing a bra?

I can remember my friends daughter suddenly needing a bra...and a week later getting her first period.....she was 9 at the time too.

Her behaviour could be the only way she can release what is happening to her hormonally....if that makes sense?
Question Author
Yes it does make sense,
she has no signs yet of needing a bra,

Thankyou

Maybe its worth having a chat with your doctor to ask if there is any natural remedy she can take to help her with her hormones?
