Hi! I am a 25 year old mother of a 13 month old baby girl.Since I had my baby my periods have been pretty normal, 28 days apart, 5 days long, most of the time I could pin-point the hour I would get it. The past 5 months have been HELL..It started in August, I completely skipped it all together, took 4 preggo tests, all negative, went to the Dr's blood test was also negative, I was told to go back in if I didn't get it in a month, it came before I was supposed to go back in 52 days between that cycle, it was horrible, heavy, painful and LONG. The same thing happened the month after only it was 45 days in between, that period was also awful, I really felt like I was going to bleed to death! I know it's probably T.M.I. but going through a Super Plus tampon AND a Super pad in an hour, this would go on for 7 days. Now, I am a month late for my period, going on my second month. I am a little overweight (still trying to get rid of baby weight), not too stressed, I try not to think about my period all the time. I am not on any birth control, I took the pill for 5 years before I was married and it took my husband and I 3 years to conceive our baby girl (I will never again put birth control in my body!) I was on the Neva Ring at the beginning of the year, just to be sure I won't get pregnant again so soon after having our daughter, I stopped the ring in March. We have had sex a couple times with out protection, but I am fairly sure I am not pregnant, no symptoms. Anyone have any Idea's about whats going on?! I would like to have another baby sometime maybe in 2010, so I would like to be ovulating still.
Thanks!

that's not me using my full name ^
I'd go back to your GP if I were you. My periods are extremely heavy after having a baby 6 months ago, so I was tested for thyroid function which can apparently cause these sort of problems.
Have you been under alot of stress?? This can affect our periods more than you think. Your body also changes after you have a child. Your hormones could also be out of balance. I would go see your ob/gyn. It could also be caused by inflamation in the uterus or cervix.
