Hi all. My 16 week old has taken to self soothing, however she sometimes puts her fingers so far into her mouth that she gags. Anybody got any tips on how I should handle this? Thanking you

I dont think theres a way around it. My son had a dummy and yet he still made himself gag using his fingers.
I think its just a phase they go through as they discover their bodies.
He is 1 now and yet he still does it on occasion when hes showing me where his teeth or his toungue are.
My niece used to do this when she was a baby, but once made herself dramatically sick. That seemed to stop her pretty sharpish! I think they just figure it out at some point.
Hi my daughter has done it from a young age too she is just coming upto one and when she does it i tell her to stop being silly cause she will hurt herself which sometimes stops her and sometimes doesnt. I wouldnt worry about it too much she will learn that if they go too far in it will hurt she is just exploring her body.

If you see her do it just say ouch that hurts and take her fingers out she should soon get the picture!!
put scratch mitts on her hands or buy the baby grows with fold over cuffs
