lol, oddly enough I recieved a letter from 'em saying they'd overpaid me by a grand and to please pay it back as soon as possible...........

yes i think I can manage that amount out of the small change in my purse...........the twonks!

I don't think there's many people who received it that haven't been asked to pay some back. We got it the first year but ever since then, whatever we were rewarded has all been owed!!! twonks is one word for em BOO, could think of a few more though. They ask what you are gonna be earning next year!!! My hubby does overtime to bulk his pay so its very diffuicult to say. Sometimes he had loads of overtime, others he had none. The system is very flawed and has put a lot of people under pressure to pay back money they just don't have!
I am so far but it will probably go horribly wrong at some point. I have always informed them about changes in pay pretty promptly though.
Yes I am happy to date. Never had a problem with anything. Hubby fills in all the forms on-line and it just gets paid into my bank account at the end of the month. No complaints from me (to date... watch this space)
We've had loads of problems mainly due to the fact that hubby is self-employed and trying to work out how much he will earn is a nightmare, even tried over estimating and still got it wrong. They have been good with us about paying them back, just phone them and say you want to pay monthly and go through all your out goings and incomings and they work out what you can afford. will be paying them back for the next 4 years though.

God LisaB, you're a very forgiving person by saying that 'they've been good to you! Wouldn't it been even better if they got they're ar*es together and worked out a different system? It's obviously gone to pot and seems yet another scam to make us think that they're rewarding us yet clearly and especially for those of us with self employed hubbys/partners we might as well forget anything that they give us, put it in a seperate account and forget about it till the next year........????

Sorry.........Liza B

I haven't had any trouble with them yet, although we do fall into the 'rich' category so are paid the minimum amount.

That's the governments idea of rich by the way ;o)

Every time we ring we get told different things - Its very confusing on my poor little blonde brain!!!!!
last year they didn't give me anything for two weeks because they had "overpaid" me, being a single parent and CTC being a big part of my income i had to srounge food from family and friends. Hope this never happens again
i went to the bank begining of march, to find only 25 had been paid in, insted of 111!!!! my childcare is 120 a week! i called the tax credit office, to be told i had been over paid and that my payments would be 25 till april 8th which will increase to 75. i asked the bloke y i hadnt been informed of this weeks ago, he said that i letter had been printed the day before! well, if i had been informed the month before i could have done extre overtime to pay my childcare. so basically, i couldnt afford my childcare, my 2 children lost their placements and i lost my job, which i did tell the tax credits would happen, they told me i would be contacted and would get money out of next yrs credits, but despite calling them many times, no exra money went into my bank. Now i have lost my job and am at home, i actually worked out that i was only going to be 30 a week better off working on what they were going to pay me towards childcare. So my answer is plain NO THIS SYSTEM IS A LOAD OF CR**!!!!!!!! the old system was much better, re apply every 6 months, and in those 6 months ur money didnt change. i knew where i was then. apparently, the gov want mums to return to work after having kids, well they should make it easier and less stressful, and when you get a letter stating how much help you will get towards childcare, then you should get it!!!

Not had a problem yet in nearly 2 years. Have changed jobs a couple of times between us and they have reduced the payments for a few weeks to mop up the excess, then started them on the new amount so has all been seamless up to this point.

Not to say that it won't go wrong in the future though!
