I was bullied at school because I was very small for me age.

My husband was bullied because he was a very plump child.

My grandson is being bullied because he lives at home with two parents who are married, & a younger sibling who is the child of both.

What a strange world we live in.

Sorry, I meant 'my' age.
Is he really being bullied? Or just teased?

Bullied.
How bullied, DSJ?
What are they doing to him?
I was bullied mercilessly at school for being ugly. I am still bullied by ignorant men who think they are God's gift. They should look in the mirror once in a while.
One man of over 6ft made fun of me. He was very overweight and I joked that 'things don't grow in the dark'. He punched me so hard I had to go to hospital. Apparently men are allowed to insult women, but if a woman says anything to a man, she gets a smack in the mouth. Nothing changes.
That's all right then. These kids are not being bullied, just "teased". Just what planet are you on, woman? It is not that long ago that I gave up teaching in an environment in which a child born in Holy Wedlock and lacking a social worker was regarded with the deepest suspicion.
Oh for goodness sake!! I asked a question. There is a difference you know....

Mike, not our fault you worked in a crap school in a crap area!
Can you discreetly report this to the head teacher, or do you think that his treatment will become worse for it?
I asked more or less the same question, ummm - how is he being bullied? I thought mike was asking DSJ, not you....
SirA...why would anyone bully you?
I was bullied in both primary and secondary school. Children (some) can be incredibly cruel these days.

I was also picked on when I was 15 by someone who was twice my age because I was too pretty. I shan't go into what he said as it is really nasty.

I hope something can be done for your grandson DSJ
They've always been cruel QOM...
this is true, ummmm, I remember bullying at my school but we didn't realise it was bullying in those days.
I know, we often see a lot of bullying fights between kids outside my work. On one occasion my colleague had to break one up. Its such a shame really
Because I am apparently abhorently ugly to men, ummmm I have even passed men in the street who make vile comments. I don't go out much. It's not as if I'm deformed or something, maybe men would be nicer if I was, but I doubt it!
But was it bullying? Was there a threat there? Could you come back with a comment as good, or better, with no consequences?
I'm sorry to hear about this Sir Alec. I don't believe in this whole good looking and ugly malarky. If they can't take you as you are then they have a serious problem and are not worth knowing. Chin up :)
ps...i love your avatar
Yes, ummmm, there have been threats if I dare to answer them back.
"Mike, not our fault you worked in a crap school in a crap area!"

I started my teaching career in a posh boarding school and loved every minute of it. I moved to a "crap" school in a "crap area", hoping I could make a difference. Sadly I failed, not realising that the prevailing social philosophy at the time was of more importance than the welfare of the children. i have never mentioned this before, and will not go into details, because even after 25 years it hurts me so much to remember poor little Simon. I am not given much to emotion, but even my mother said to me on arriving home from school one day, "Why are you crying, are you not well?" When a poor little boy standing in his form queue waiting to go into school hands you a jam roll, saying," Can you look after this for me, Sir, as it's my dinner," I defy anyone without a heart of stone not to be moved. I was warned off at the peril of losing my job from complaining to the authorities being told that,"...he comes from a loving home and his parents are members of the Salvation Army." For the avoidance of doubt, this was Newcastle, 1989. I'm on my pension now and they can't take that off me!
