I'm tootling along, found the main character & filled in most of the grid.
But, I could do with some help with & explanation of wordplay with: 19 across: Make a noise by opening warrant (4) OI?K (I assume oink?) 33 across: Old horse's power limited by antiquated headgear (5) ?A?UR 39 across:Origins of Rumpelstiltskin, imp and spinning fairy (5) LI?L? 42 across (which I assume is a no definition) Learner getting into revision again (8) ?E?OL?EL and finally 32 down: Runs following ride on snow vehicle (5) ?UG?? (luger?)
Then I need to do some 'research' on the highlighted character!!!!

Am I correct that the 'earlier musical work' was a ballet? and I assume I change the 'hand' in clashes to the hand our main character used?
