Waiting in checkout queue and the woman at the front is on her mobile, then she fishes in her bag and grabs a load of discount coupons and then carries on with her conversation. Checkout lady scans each coupon and starts to reject them because some are out of date, some not appropriate to that shop or the person hasn't bought the product. Woman on mobile argues and then shouts "whatever" and then produces a credit card which the system declines. Another argument (still on mobile) and cash is trawled from bag and handed over. Insufficient cash for all the shopping so items are deducted. Person behind her makes a sarky comment and gets a mouthful of abuse for her trouble. Quite comical really.

She might have a relative in hospital who she was waiting for news of, could have lost her job and be skint.

On the other hand she might just be an ignorant moo.
ask BOO, and Dotty...
I know, like me, they have sat at a till, maybe dotty hasn't but she's in retail all the same, there are some evil bloody folk who come to the checkouts....
ha ha was it me? i was in sains earlier and the air fresh i was buying had leaked so the sales lady was gettign me another and the woman behind me started huffing and puffing so i went on a go slow and emptied my entire bag out "trying" to find my credit card, she had steam coming out her ears buy the time i left
Mcmouse shopping becomes a chore especially as these cold dark winter nights draw in and the shops are heaving, if you use the self serve then the system has some kind of a problem and you have to wait until a human arrives to sort out the "robot" and if you join the lengthy queues you end up in some sort of aggro, bet thing is just hit the shops as they open in the mornings when they are relatively empty.
Micky, the sales assistants always come in for criticisms and a lot deserve it but the customer with the nasty streak is horrible to deal with and usually the boss will back the customer in most cases
Thank God for on line shopping, no queue's, no heavy bags, no crowded aisles,no nightmare shoppers, no parking probs, no, no, no.

jem
I think a lot have taken to doing this Jem now, I do a lot but not groceries..
like the pic btw ;-0)
But jemisa the full product list is not online and also sometimes you may see something that you haven't thought of and decide to buy it and then there's the deals and reduced offers you'd be missing out on.
I have had my shopping delivered for years. I actually went into Tesco last Friday, it was like entering an awful parallel universe.

Yep Jem - theres a lot to be said for online shopping - just going to do mine now.
Hi bobbi,how are you ?
Thought your man played fairly well, without too many chances. xx
Have to agree with McM,because it seems to happen so often. However,I think the checkout people, who have to deal with these sorts of customer, have the patience of
saints.
I am very well dg thanks, Carroll was a bit out of his depth..

I don't mind the online shopping for a lot of stuff and it has proved a great success for Christmas gifs, especially Amazon, food shopping I like to go and see what I am getting especially the bacon, meats ect.
Tsk! you DON'T get that in Waitrose....

Another one is where you spot a short queue and feel very pleased with yourself and just as your shopping has been scanned the credit card till roll runs out........horlicks
Shopping on line for your groceries is more or less the same as in store. You still get BOGOFs all the special offers, use your coupons (Tesco) you get on line specials too. The 'Pickers' pick the best meats & veg where as store shoppers get whats left. We are told if there is anything new before it gets to the shelves. If they haven't got something they will send the next best thing, if you don't want it you send it back & its refunded in hours.
Don't knock it till you've tried it. -- And you haven't had to struggle to get there or frozen in the proccess.

jem
I have done it before Jem and I wouldn't knock anyone for doing it , just my daughter takes me in the car for mine so it isn't too bad ;0)
re online shopping. i heard the shop can send food with "short use by dates " thats what puts me off.
I do my big shop on-line as both the little ones refuse to go in the trolley now so it is a nightmare for me and for other shoppers. However, I do go to the supermarket on the weekend for a few bits and to make sure that they all know how to behave properly.
I do most of my shopping online and I agree with Jemisa. However, if I do go to the actual shop I always make a point of thanking the checkout lady (or man) as I think they have a very difficult job keeping their temper sometimes. Doesn't hurt to be polite.
