How do they work out your annual bill? We moved into a flat recently, just a mile from where we were living before. I rang Thames water to let them know and they sent me a bill which was nearly £100 more than what we have paid in the last year. How can it vary so much?
I think I am going to request a water meter to be installed as its just 2 of us living together and I suspect that we will be better off paying what is on the meter.

We saved a fortune by going onto a water meter a few years back - if there are only two of you I'd recommend it!
were you in a flat before? there are additional charges on flats that aren't payable on houses for some reason
It depends on the rateable value of the property. Before you have a meter remeber it will reduce the value of your property if it is a family house.
