i have just started a second job, my first 0ne is not taxed. my question is what do i do to ensure i pay the correct amount of income tax?

The following assumes you're in the UK. First, you should ensure that your second employer informs the tax office that you have started work, and obtains a tax code for you. If necessary, you should contact the tax office yourself, and discuss your situation with them. However, I think you will find it difficult, if not impossible, to ensure that you pay the correct amount of tax during the current tax year. You'll possibly underpay, and have to make it up after the end of the tax year; or, more likely, overpay and have to claim a refund.
this answer assumes that u r in India...first of all find out if ur salary in the previous company required u to pay taxes.. since the Government policies state certain categories under which u shd be taxed. then if u r supposed to be taxed.find out how much u had to pay and then pay ur taxes in an income tax office and make sure u obtain a receipt for the taxes paid.(A PAN card would be preferrable).
