Try Yes credit, but their interest rates are horrendous, as one would expect from a lender who provides loans to those who are a high credit risk. I don't think GuavaHalf was suggesting that you're an outcast in any way, just seeing the situation from the side of a lender, which is that a person with no recognisable income source (ie work or working partner) would be much less likely to be able to repay a loan. Whether you are able to repay a loan or not is certainly no bearing on how you are raising your children. Also, perhaps it's your anger at what you perceived to be GuavaHalf's discrimination coming through in your post, but it seems worth pointing out that whilst knowing right from wrong and having good manners are indeed very important in childrens' upbringing, spelling and grammar also count for something.
Christie I never suggested you were anything other than an upstanding member of the community and I am sorry if my post came across that way. I agree 100% with ansteyg unless it is a dire emergency save up for what you want. It is a very slippery slope to do otherwise. If it is an emergency go to the Citizens Advice Bureau as there are social security benefits/loans available in many circumstances. There may also be other grants or charitable help available. It may help if we know what you want the loan for. At all costs avoid the type of company nicola_red mentions they are one small step up from loan sharks.
Is there a credit union in your area? If not, get one started.

thankyou all for your replys, and i am sorry for misunderstanding guavahalf i truly didnt mean for my reply to sound so aggressive or so defensive it did look alot worse in print then how i thought it in my head.thankyou again.
Christie you have nothing to apologise for, however I do think that Nicola_red's reply was unnecessarily condescending. Are you "Spellmaster" in disguise. I have been a single parent and I am all too aware of how society perceives us. If you are receiving benefits then why not apply for a budgeting loan from DWP? You can borrow quite a large amount and they simply take repayments straight from your payments every week, going by what you can afford taking into account your other outgoings. Also they don't charge interest.

thankyou asterisk i will try social secruity,i thought i was taking things too personally with nicolas comments so im glad you noticed too thankyou.
Sorry all - I really didn't mean to be condescending - I am indeed sometimes overly picky when it comes to spelling and grammar and felt the need to defend GuavaHalf, but obviously Christie's irritation was contagious...
The Benefits Agency operate a crisis loan, I understand to get this is a case of almost proving you dont need it - if that makes sense. Please stay away from the sharks, you will be paying forever and even if you get a lump sum to pay off the remainder they hammer you with interest charges so you might as well have let the loan run the full time.
