This will depend on the insurance policy itself, what it's covering and who underwrites it. If you are talking about a specific policy that you have taken, you will have a ploicy document which will outline this for you and if not go back to your provider and ask for a copy. If you are yet to take the policy out then ask for a specimen policy document so that you can consider your optionsas most of these policies differ widely.
