I submitted pictures of an item to Sotheby's to be valued.

I have now received it back with a covering letter saying it is below their auction threshold. Does anybody know what the auction minimum amount is?

Surely the person best qualified to answer that would be the person who signed the letter from Sotheby's - or am I missing something?
