A friend of mine had an accident few years ago, and will get compensation for it. Has an ex wife and due to divorce his second. Can the second wife claim any of the money, even though he wasn't married to her at the time it happened.

Quite simply - maybe.

He needs to get proper legal and financial advice.

As he is getting compensation he has obviously suffered physically, mentally or both. The second wife may claim that she has cared for him due to the accident, curtailing her own career or lifestyle to do so.

She may also claim that she has had to finance him as his injuries prevented him from working.
