how dop u workout VAT on a calculator ?

or can u tell me the amount that need to be added to �407

VAT = 17.5% ... or 0.175

thus �407 x 0.175 = �71.23 (rounded up to nearest penny)
To use a calculator:

Key in

407 x 17.5

And then the % key.
or, if what you actually require is the total figure (i.e. base price + VAT), simply multiply by 1.175.
