Hi,

Does anyone know any good car insurance companies? My hubby hasn't got any no claims bonus and has had 3 speeding fines in last 5 years. Tried a couple of brokers and bell.co.uk but all too dear. Any ideas?

Oh thanks. U shouldn't have. Knew that one was coming.

Try confused.com

Not promising anything but at least they search lots of companies so you don't have to keep putting the same info in.

Thanks. Yeah tried them, their lowest was 850! Car we are buying is only 200. Lowest so far is 550. Only reason he has no no claims is we've been using works van for years but with new baby now we can't all fit in! He starts work at 2/3am that's when speeding fines occured (rushing to work when overslept) but know doubt will get loads more grief about him speeding.

Cheers again.

Quote me happy... were significantly lower than any others for me. Avoid Direct line like the plague. Ok premium wise but god help you should you ever have the missfortune to make a claim... bunch of to**ers!

Cheers but they wanted over 1,000! I wonder how many people do actually ring and say 'quote me happy' the staff must hate it.

Are you getting quotes for third party cover only, as this will obviously be cheaper? Have you tried increasing your excess as this can reduce your premium? Finally, see if it makes a difference if you are named as a driver (assuming you have no endorsements on your licence).

Thanks for that.
Hi...have you tried the 'Post Office'?...although i haven't any recent speeding fines I also had no 'no claims' as i had been without a car for 3 years but the P.O insurance was the cheapest 'comprehensive' i could find, almost 80 cheaper than any others
