How Long Do You Have To Wait

before Amazon offers a refund, I have sent back via the courier Hermes an item
and haven't had a refund. Its been 10 days and no news. How does one contact Amazon to ask what is the holdup.

its value was 30 quid and i want my money back.
You do know Hermes is absolutely rubbish?

they have been good so far. I get my deliveries no problem, but this is the second thing i have had to send back.
its usually 5-7 working days after they have received it back for amazon sold items. Did you buy it from amazon or a seller?

the first one went back to the UK supplier, and haven't heard anything from them at all, another 30 quid down the drain if they don't respond.
They left a package on my neighbours doorstep. Needless to say it was gone when she got home.

Not even their tracking can be trusted.

This is from Amazon's US site but it's likely to be much the same here in the UK:

"After the carrier has received your item, it can take up to two weeks for us to receive and process your return"

and

"Once we issue your refund, it may take additional time for your funds to be made available in your account by your financial institution . . .
Debit card - Up to 10 business days
Credit card - Three to five business days"

Also:
"You can check the payment method that was refunded and the status of your refund in Your Orders".

no, the order just says delivered on 4th November. The item went back shortly afterwards to Amazon

Emmie, if you go to "customer services" and then down to "contact us", you can do a live chat now, if you prefer. I have only twice had to go to Amazon, with a 3rd seller dispute, and both times, I got a refund within 48 hours. They are very quick and helpful. The phone number should be open now (unless it's reduced hours with covid)... think I have the same as Chris... 08002797234. But they are very fast and very helpful.
The longest I've waited for a refund was about a month.

I use Amazon a LOT. I’ve never had trouble with a refund and find their customer service a little impersonal but efficient.
