Anyone been on one? I've recently started playing and am well and truly bitten by the golfing bug! I'm interested in going to Portugal for a golf holiday and was wondering if anyone has been, got any recommendations or been on one elsewhere in Europe.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Where do I start?

Been to Portugal 4 times, Ireland 10 times and America 5 times, all golfing hols. Also played in Australia a couple of times.

Theres a web site called IAGTO:-

http://www.iagto.com/

Gives loads of tour operators, and you can usually order their brochures on the website.

Many offer free golf i.e. you can play every day included in the price, but I usually prefer to investigate the courses at a particular destination using the web. Pick your destination, and just do a "search", say google using something like "golf Algarve" - check the leads out from there. You can sometimes book tee times on line as well.

Good luck and enjoy!

Well in a few years time, Fuerteventura will be awesome. Their building about four courses here at the mo. The only one finished had the Spanish open last year, and the weather is great all year round. Its relatively cheap here aswell.

Thanks for both answers.

forgetfultel, anywhere in Portugal that you would particularly recommend?

Remember that lots of courses in Spain and Portugal will require you to provide a handicap certificate. Not all of them, but a lot will.
