In light of the Icebreaker Tax avoidance scheme, Larkdale LLP which had amongst others had Gary Barlow as a director which purported to help struggling music talent flourish but cynically was an instrument to avoid tax and in the process racked up huge losses which could be claimed against. It hasnt been mentioned in any news story, but did it 'actually' fund any artists, because if they didn't surely that amounts to fraud as well . BTW it emerged that Colin Jackson (Athlete) and Gaby Logan were involved in similar schemes too, although they imply it was done in good faith (well they would do wouldn't they).

She's going to pay it back. Did she decide to do that before the news broke?

Why, its fact http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27484940, why is it uninformed, she is only paying it back as she was caught

its not lible the bbc posted this, she owes the tax, she got found out, that is fact. anyway did larkdale ever fund any musicians?

if she didn't realise this was a tax avoidance scheme then i'm pope, her tax savings would have been noticible. she came clean rather than be hit with further penalties and further damage to her integrity.
From the Icebreaker Management website:
"since 2004 the LLPs have assisted in . . .the production and distribution of nearly 150 music albums from a range of established and aspiring British and other artists and musicians . . ."

If you have some countervailing evidence I suggest that you post a link yourself, methyl - the BBC has quite good lawyers, as a rule, & they will have vetted the piece that everyone has linked to.

Thanks for the link buenchino... if their portfolio is the artists on their list then Andrea Corr, Ali Campbell (UB40) and Sinead O' Connor amongst others hardly need a helping hand up the showbiz ladder do they??? More evidence what a huge con this was.
>>>Waste of time me suggesting that Gaby Logan was not on this scheme

Especially when GL says she was ;-)

The judgement of the tax tribunal is here:

I thought it said no - but I cant be sure ( no they didnt help anyone except themselves and that was to damn gt tax losses )

Gaby Logan joined the scheme in 2008 and left it in 2012. 2012 was when the The Times highlighted the scheme was a sham. She did the right thing and got out as soon as she knew it was dodgy. The others did not. It would appear that Logan has been unfairly treated because she immediately took steps to remove herself long before the court action by HMRC.
